The Roughstock Jeepers Jeep Rodeo will be a one-day event on Saturday, September 21, 2024 with onsite registration beginning on Friday at Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area (BMRA) in Gilmer TX. The park will Open to the public for regular park activities during this event. (BMRA gate fees required).

jeeps will compete in 3 classifications. Extreme, Modified, and Novice. depending on rig equipment and tech. open classes for all other 4wd vehicles will also compete in those 3 classifications depending on rig equipment and tech. Class requirements are listed below. Several trails will be chosen for each of the different classes

vehicles will complete runs up or down the chosen trails. Jeepers will only be competing against other Jeeps in their own class. all other 4WD vehicles will compete in the open class. The Rodeo will be judged on wow factor, the lines you choose, and your overall technique. All scores rated on a score beginning at 100 points and deducted from pending your run. bonus points will also apply.

​along with the main competition on Saturday, we will have several other attractions and activities. There will be an Obstacle Course with a 50/50 pot going to the winner, and a poker run on Friday afternoon during registration, and a RTI ramp onsite so you can test your flex. There is a Rock Garden in the park to play on as well. We will have a vendor’s area with the Jeep Rodeo sponsors providing food, showing off their goods and selling Jeep parts. There is going to be plenty of fun for everyone!

 No alcohol will be served by Roughstock Jeepers. 

This is strictly a BYOB weekend. No alcohol drinking is allowed while trail riding or you will be disqualified from the contest and/or kicked out of Barnwell for violation of the rules.

​Weekend security will be provided by the Roughstock Jeepers and BMRA.

​Cash prizes and plaques awarded for all rodeo classes.

Novice Class

35” tires and smaller

Stock Rubicon is allowed but

you cannot user your lockers or you will be disqualified.

No winch required, tow hooks on the front and rear

Modified Class

1 locker minimum w winch

35” tires up to 37” tires

Tow hooks front and rear

Extreme Class

Front and rear lockers

37” tires and up

Must have Jeep hood and grill

Winch not required

Open Class

If it's a 4x4 and you can drive it, you can run it in this class.

Registration Fee includes:

  • rodeo Entry for driver/vehicle

  • 2 meals (breakfast & lunch Saturday)

  • event tshirt
